Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody’s Analytics, sounded an alarm before a Senate panel on Thursday over Washington’s ongoing debt-ceiling standoff, while a conservative expert testified that most Americans want President Joe Biden to talk with Republicans about some reductions in government spending.
