With a wine glass in one hand and my smartphone in the other, I sent cut-and-paste cold messages to strangers. They went something like this:  “Hey, Hun! Hope you’re well, I’ve been thinking about you! I wanted to pick your brain about my new business. I think it’s something that would be PERFECT for you.
